Wildwood Collective

Children Thrive in a Forever Family. We believe God established two institutions for the hope and flourishing of humanity

The family

The local church

Wildwood Hills Ranch is not one of them. Our role is to strengthen both. Families are under tremendous pressure, and vulnerable children often experience the deepest consequences when families struggle. At the same time, many churches want to help but lack a clear, sustainable way to respond. The Wildwood Collective equips local churches to build embedded ministries that care for vulnerable children, strengthen families, and mobilize the gifts God has already placed within their congregations. Together, we can help flip the narrative from not enough to more than enough.

Why the Collective Exists

Strong Churches Strengthen Families

After decades of serving vulnerable youth and learning alongside families, schools, churches, and child-welfare professionals, Wildwood Hills Ranch launched the Wildwood Collective. We have seen how family instability, trauma, isolation, and lack of support can shape a child’s life. We have also seen what happens when caring people surround children and families with consistent, transformational relationships. Schools, agencies, professionals, and nonprofit organizations all play important roles in caring for vulnerable children. The local church offers something uniquely enduring: People who can know a family, walk alongside them, and remain long after the immediate crisis has passed. The Wildwood Collective helps churches turn compassion into coordinated, lasting care.

What Is a Forever Family?

A forever family is the safe, stable, lifelong family every child needs to thrive. For one child, that may mean healing and reunification with a strengthened biological family. For another, it may mean living with relatives through kinship care. For another, it may mean guardianship or adoption. The path may look different for every child, but the need remains the same: Safety. Stability. Love. Identity. Belonging. Our goal is to help local churches support children and families before, during, and beyond foster care so children can thrive in forever families.

Flip the Narrative

From Not Enough to More Than Enough

In foster care, the prevailing narrative is often: Not enough. Not enough foster families. Not enough adoptive families. Not enough resources. Not enough support. Not enough volunteers. Not enough people willing to step in. Again and again, we hear the same message: Not enough. Not enough. Not enough. At the Wildwood Collective, we believe there is another way to see the problem. We serve a God of abundance. We believe there is more than enough compassion. More than enough generosity. More than enough talent. More than enough experience. More than enough people who care. The problem is not simply that there is nothing available. We believe we are expecting too few people to do too much. A relatively small number of foster, adoptive, and kinship families are carrying enormous responsibilities. A small number of volunteers answer many of the needs. Pastors and ministry leaders want to help but cannot carry the burden alone. Child-welfare professionals are doing difficult work with limited capacity. Meanwhile, churches are filled with people who care deeply but may not know where they fit. The solution is not finding a few people willing to do everything. It is helping everyone discover their something.

The More Than Enough Vision

Everyone Doing Something

We believe God has already placed the people, gifts, relationships, abilities, and generosity needed to make a difference within local communities. The challenge is helping churches recognize and mobilize them. Imagine communities with:

More than enough foster and kinship families so children have opportunities for safe, appropriate care.

More than enough adoptive families for children waiting for permanent homes.

More than enough support for biological families pursuing healing, stability, and reunification.

More than enough practical care surrounding foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

More than enough trained volunteers to mentor children, support caregivers, and strengthen families

More than enough churches working together so no family has to carry the weight alone

We believe this is possible. Not because Wildwood can accomplish it. Not because one church can accomplish it. But because every church can find its role. And every person can find their something.

Find Your Something

Not Everyone Is Called to Do Everything.

Not everyone is called to become a foster parent. Not everyone is called to adopt. But everyone can care. Your something might be:
  • Opening your home
  • Supporting a foster, adoptive, or kinship family
  • Walking alongside a biological family pursuing reunification
  • Mentoring a child or teenager
  • Preparing meals
  • Helping with transportation
  • Offering a professional skill
  • Providing practical support
  • Encouraging a child-welfare professional
  • Praying faithfully
  • Giving generously
  • Simply showing up consistently

These are only a few possibilities. The Wildwood Collective helps people find a meaningful role that fits their gifts, experience, capacity, and season of life. Some roles are large and lifelong. Others are small and timely. Every role matters. Not everyone can do everything. But everyone can do something. When everyone brings their something, the burden no longer rests on a few. Together, we become more than enough.

Part of a Larger Mission

The Wildwood Collective is one expression of the broader Wildwood Hills Ranch mission:

Breaking Cycles

Through the Collective, we help break cycles by strengthening children and families.

Building Leaders

We build leaders by equipping pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers, caregivers, and community partners.

Transforming Communities

We transform communities by helping churches mobilize their people and helping everyone find their something.

The Collective delivers transformation differently than the Ranch. The Ranch creates life-changing experiences. The Wildwood Collective equips local churches to build life-giving communities. Together, they help transformation move beyond a single moment and become a way of life.

More Than Enough

Wildwood Collective is about getting from "not enough" to "more than enough" for foster, adoptive, & kinship families. More than enough foster and kinship families for every child to have an ideal placement. More than enough adoptive families for every child waiting to find their forever home. More than enough support for biological families striving to reunite with their children. More than enough wrap-around support from the church for all of these families.

Help Us Flip the Narrative

Your Church Already Has Something to Offer.

You do not have to invent a ministry from the ground up. You do not have to ask a handful of people to carry the entire burden. And you do not have to do it alone. The Wildwood Collective will help your church understand the need, build a sustainable ministry, equip your people. Together, we can strengthen families. Together, we can equip churches. Together, we can move from not enough to more than enough. Because children thrive in a forever family - and families thrive when they are surrounded by a caring community. Find Your Something.
