Story of the Week – Session 6

Session six of summer programming has been full of the evidences of God’s handiwork. We appreciate your continued prayers for our staff as they deal with many difficult stories and situations. We also value your ongoing prayers for the youth at-risk that we serve.

Our staff have had countless hard conversations this summer with students that have experienced trauma and hurts that no one, let alone little children, should have to endure.  Just last week, we had 2 girls, both age 9, that come from extremely difficult backgrounds.  Jenny’s parents were both murdered in front of her when she was just 4 years old and Katie was in the room next to her parents when her dad killed her mom at the age of 6.  These stories are heart wrenching and uncover so much hurt and trauma that have left vivid imprints in the minds of these two girls but it is our joy and privilege to be able to bring hope to seemingly hopeless situations through the hope and healing that Jesus brings.  Both of these girls got to hear the gospel and learn about a father that loves them unconditionally and wants to take on their trauma and pain.  Katie and Jenny are on a journey and we are thankful that we get to be a part of it.

Join in on this journey with us by praying for Jenny and Katie, our staff, and the youth we serve.  We are so encouraged and empowered by your prayers and support!
